It doesn’t require more than a few points, if not just one. Pierce: It gives your arrows the chance to pierce through an enemy, hitting more than one monster. We recommend spending one point unless you want to follow a build that relies on it. Evade: Its effect may sound cool, but practically it doesn’t work so well.Decoy is strong at lower levels but eventually loses its power at higher levels and in Hell mode. Decoy: It can be very useful as it saves hits from you, your Valkyrie and your mercenary. Some players invest 5-10 points more to it. You can further boost it by +skills items. Penetrate: Place also a point here to increase your Attack Rating.Place a point to unlock the other skills of the tree. Avoid: It allows the character to dodge missiles at a fixed rate.It may sound useless, but it can really slow down enemies’ attacks. Slow Missiles: It slows the speed of incoming missile attacks (Lightning, FireBall, and Charged Bolt).Place one point in it as a requirement for the next skills. Dodge: It isn’t worth many of your points, except you are a “Strafer”.Critical Strike: It can double an attack’s damage, but investing many points in it feels like a waste. For instance, a level 10 Inner Sight reduces the target’s defense rating by -315. But it can be useful because it lowers a fair amount of the enemies’ defense. Inner Sight: This skill often serves as a prerequisite for the other skills in the tree. Many players max out this skill for dealing with enemies with physical Immunity. Freezing Arrow: It launches an enchanted arrow with ice. It’s more powerful against a larger group of monsters, especially if you have a tank or Decoy to assist you. The character can’t move until the attack is complete, so it isn’t very effective versus a single enemy. In addition, every arrow has the bow’s effects. Strafe: An essential skill as it auto-targets enemies within its area.Guided Arrow: It’s preferable for PvP because its arrows cannot miss.Passive effects like elemental damage can activate only in the middle of the volley. However, only one of the arrows damages a single target. Multiple Shot: Mostly used for PvP as it’s a fast way to cover a larger area.It costs just 1,5 mana and doesn’t spend bolts or arrows. Magic Arrow: It doesn’t need more than one point.Another option is to invest in elemental skills in order to deal with enemies with physical Immunity. Several of them are placing extra points in the Critical Strike, Penetrate and Pierce skills. They have the luxury to arrange the rest of the points as they want. Some players choose to have a healthy Valkyrie in a combination of a maxed out skill such as Multiple Arrow or Strafe. However, the Bow’s low damage balances this out. Therefore, they have many points left to invest in the skills of their preference. Bowazon Build Skillsīowazon’s primary physical skills like Multiple Shot, Strafe and Guided Arrow don’t have synergies. There are many types of Bowazons that require a different skill building and maybe different equipment. So the Splint Mail is pretty much the best option for socketed armor for a while until you get a lucky non-magical loot drop for armor. This Amazon build relies on the “Bow and Crossbow skills” tree and uses Bows as main weapons. The one annoying thing about runewords and getting them into your equipment is that shop vendors after Act 2 never end up selling non magical equipment with sockets in them, so you have to wait for the perfect loot to pop up to actually get the ideal runeword for higher tier equipment. Thankfully there are actually some pretty decent unique item bows that can do well for you until you have a chance to craft a runeword for one. I got lucky in Act 3 with my Amazon and came across some nice 2 socket and 3 socket bows in a close timespan, so I was able to craft a Zephyr on one and save the other one for when I have the right runes to make the Melody runeword. Stealth is definitely a great runeword for an Amazon though, pretty much exactly my thoughts as I got later into Act 2 but didn't end up having the necessary runes for it yet (I didn't grind The Countess for any runes until after Act 2). So for me Nadir is something that may be even more tempting to give to a hireling for the extra defense and bonus to Strength. At least for an Amazon, getting the +2 to mana after each kill isn't near as good as draining mana for each hit since a melee hireling will end up getting many kills. While Nadir is something that is fairly accessible early in Act 2 if you get some fortunate rune drops, there are some unique item helmets out there that are probably better or just as good if you happen to have them which would make crafting a Nadir runeword less tempting to go for.
